Welcome to the fall semester! This school year brings lots of changes to our outreach efforts and projects.
This fall, we will continue hosting our monthly Vietnamese Storytime at Mira Mesa Library! We are also looking forward to celebrating the launch of our new book collection and event highlighting Vietnamese-English bilingualism and Asian identity.
As we move forward with our research, several of our projects are reaching important milestones. The “Assessment Tools for Vietnamese” project is entering its final semester of data collection, while we continue to score data and transcribe language samples throughout the academic year. Data collection for the “Cognitive Processing in Diverse Learners” project was officially completed last spring, and we are now focused on completing data cleaning and scoring, as well as language sample transcription. We are also excited to share that the TELL project has officially been completed!
The Bilingual Development in Context Lab is dedicated to investigating bilingual children who speak Vietnamese or Spanish at home.
